Arts Fuse writers continue their countdown of great music celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and this month’s list includes Leonard Bernstein, Leon Russell, The Faces, Carla Bley, and Rod Stewart.
Carla Bley’s last three CDs are not a casual sequence, and hearing all of them together, as I did recently, provides a refreshing reminder of her greatness.
Among the festival’s highlights: pianist-singer Jeremy Dutcher, who arrived on the stage of the tiny space Gésu dressed in shorts and a long flowing black robe with a hood.
