Host Deanna Costa catches up with Arts Fuse contributor Matt Hanson and the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Bill Marx. The trio discuss this year’s Winter Appeal, recent articles posted on the Fuse, along with the current state of Boston theater. Click here to donate to our Winter Appeal! Your tax deductible donations are much appreciated — we need your help to keep our reviews, commentaries, and features coming. These are trying times for nonprofit publications like ours and for the arts — our publication plays a crucial role in maintaining the cultural ecosystem.

We also chat about our expanded fundraising efforts this month, including a virtual concert we call The Fusical, which will be stream on Friday, 12/4 at 7 p.m. Featured performers: bluesman Ryan Lee Crosby, banjoist Clifton Hicks, and pianist Laszlo Gardony. There will also be a chance to chat live — with me, Bill Marx, and other Arts Fuse critics. The event is free, but contributions are encouraged. Click here to register for the Fusical.

Deanna Costa is a recent graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, where she earned a B.S. in Journalism with a focus on Magazine Design. During her time at BU, she covered local concerts for on-campus publications in multiple formats. Outside of writing, she routinely interviewed artists and reviewed albums live on her weekly radio show, DJ-ed on campus events, and held the Studio Productions Director position in 2017. Currently, she is a full-time administrative assistant, a freelance music journalist, and host of the Arts Fuse Podcast: The Short Fuse.
