“Hacks” has been one of the best sitcoms in recent years.
It is not unusual for most series to hit a sophomore slump, but Hacks manages to avoid this fate, partly because of how deftly it expands on its original premise.
Mare of Easttown is particularly effective in interweaving troubled domestic timelines, families held together by women who are on the brink of psychic or emotional collapse.
