Our End-of-the-Year Appeal — Support Quality Arts Coverage

The end of the year is upon us. I ask you to consider contributing to The Arts Fuse so that we can continue to be an indispensible part of the Boston arts landscape.

Arts-Fuse-3

Dear Arts Fuse Reader:

I hope you are well and that you attended some live arts events this past year. Personally, I continue to be inspired by the wealth of arts and culture The Arts Fuse was fortunate enough to critique in 2017, from the Boston Symphony to Charlestown Working Theatre. Experiencing art, and then responding with critical acumen in a way that encourages dialogue, remains an important mission for the magazine. And, once again, the magazine’s annual Fusical handed out awards to unsung heroes of the arts in New England, from Wakefield Press to the New England Philharmonic.

Serious coverage of the arts is an essential part of the cultural ecology, but it is disappearing rapidly in newspapers and magazines. The Boston Globe has cut its freelance theater critics. This is tragic. In contrast, over the past year The Arts Fuse has posted over 700 reviews, features, and interviews.

As the end of the year is upon us, I ask you to consider contributing to The Arts Fuse so that we can continue to be an indispensible part of the Boston arts landscape. Any gifts $500 and above will become part of our new major giving program called the “Infusers.” These donors will receive an opportunity to attend an event with a critic! I hope you’ll consider this wonderful opportunity to make a difference.

All donations are tax deductible and can be made by clicking on one of the links below or mailing a check — made out to Global Narratives, Inc — and sent to the address below. Here’s to a happy and healthy year ahead filled with art! Thanks so much for your support.

With deep appreciation,

Bill Marx
