Weekly Feature: Poetry at The Arts Fuse
Welcome to “Poetry at The Arts Fuse.” A new poem every Thursday.
Early Harvest
She went out into the fields
with her sister and came across the largest bud.
Without thinking, she let out a call:
“Look at this:
it will be
twelve beautiful leaves.”
She plucked it from the air,
and secured it in her pocket
until she had returned home
and mustered the courage
to let the call go
into a steaming pot
where it unfurled:
“It is
intact, but only one.”
